Capital City Chorus Presents - A Capital Celebration!
We hope you might like to join us in celebrating the arrival of summer with a very special event! On the evening of Saturday June 29th we’ll be welcoming to the National Capital and sharing a show stage at Woodroffe United Church with the Grande Prairie Boys’ Choir. They are an excellent 60-strong choir of boys aged 10 and up, from the community of Grande Prairie up in the Peace River Country of north-west Alberta, who are visiting for the Canada Day weekend and Unisong Choral Music Festival. We’ve prepared a special show that will feature a mix of their repertoire, Capital City Chorus repertoire, and some mixed numbers. Truly an introductory celebration for the Canada Day weekend, the Show starts at 7 pm and lasts about 90 minutes.
Woodroffe United Church is located in Ottawa at 207 Woodroffe Avenue, just south of Richmond Road. There is plenty of parking.
Tickets are only $15 for adults and $10 for students (and as usual children under 12 are free). To obtain tickets in advance, please contact a member of the Capital City Chorus or 613-723-SING (7464), or else you can also order tickets by e-mail from tickets@capitalcitychorus.org.
In the years since its inception in 1957, the Capital City Chorus has risen to the highest levels of a cappella singing with numerous recognitions to its credit. The Capital City Chorus, under the direction of Denis Laflamme, represented Ontario District at the 2008 International Convention of the Barbershop Harmony Society (SPEBSQSA Inc.) in Nashville, Tennessee. The Capital City Chorus was the only Canadian chorus in this prestigious annual International competition.
Theme by Danetsoft and Danang Probo Sayekti inspired by Maksimer
