Our Charities

The Capital City Chorus loves the community of Ottawa. For almost 60 years, this organization has raised funds or awareness for various charities and organizations. The three that are closest to the heart of our chapter and to which the majority of our funds go are:

Harmonize For Speech

In the last two decades, the Ottawa Chapter has contributed over $284,000 to this organization which provides funds for numerous speech-related projects and equipment at hospitals, clinics and treatment centres throughout Ontario and specifically to programs in the Ottawa-Gatineau region.

Sing Canada Harmony

The Ottawa Chapter has donated over $60,000 to this organization since it was established. Sing Canada Harmony is a charity created to provide financial assistance for educational and training opportunities in singing vocal music performance, vocal music leadership, vocal music administration and vocal music composition, arrangement, adjudication and staging. Sing Canada Harmony will fund learning opportunities for Canadians throughout the communities and schools in our country, particularly young people, to gain expertise and experience in the field of a cappella vocal music harmony singing in quartets and choruses.

Camp Smitty

For more than two decades the value of time, labour and resources donated by the men of the Capital City Chorus for renovations has been assessed at over $500,000. The purpose of this camp is to give lifelong exceptional summer camping experience to young people, with an emphasis on those who would not otherwise have access to such.
